PURE EVIL (Charles Uzzell Edwards)

Charles Uzzell Edwards, also known as Pure Evil, is an English artist born in 1968, and a descendant of the philosopher Thomas More. After studying graphic design and fashion in London, he moved to the United States, where he worked as a designer for a streetwear brand and immersed himself in the nightlife scene, notably as a DJ and electronic music producer. After several years in the U.S, he returned to England, influenced by his urban environment.

His artistic career took a decisive turn with street art, inspired by a childhood trauma linked to a hunting incident. The animal he killed became his symbol, representing guilt. Under the name Pure Evil, he adopted a committed approach, critical of society, influenced by horror films and 1960s pop art. Today, Pure Evil is a recognized brand, encompassing the artist, the gallerist, the composer, and the presenter.
